The fun doesn't stop just because it gets cold and snowy. That just brings out a new kind of fun. Celebrate old-world European holiday traditions, ring in the new year in style, and then, just as we're trying to bid winter farewell, check out the bats at Lincoln Caverns during Batfest! 

Lemont Village German Christmas

Time: Early December

Location: Lemont

Description: Celebrate our region’s German heritage with the annual "Weihnachtsmarkg" Christmas Market in Lemont.  Local arts and crafts, music, bratwurst & hotdogs, treats, beverages, and good spirits, together with local products by 20 vendors will be offerend in the Granary in Lemont.

Bellefonte Victorian Christmas

Time: Second weekend in December

Location: Bellefonte

Description: Travel back in time and enjoy the ultimate Victorian Christmas in Bellefonte with holiday classics like Dickens, caroling, arts & crafts, food, tours and much more.

First Night

Time: Last day of the year

Location: Downtown State College

Description: Ring in the new year and burn your regrets from the last at First Night. See amazing ice sculptures, ride in the alpine ice slides, listen to live music, eat festival food, and cheer on costumed and serious runners (or enter yourself) in the Resolution 5K.

Batfest

Time: Early February

Location: Lincoln Caverns, Huntingdon

Description: Warm up in 52-degree cavern comfort.  Observe our favorite furry friends.  Workshops for all ages plus an update on Pennsylvania bat species and white nose syndrome with the PA Game Commission and a visit from Robyn Graboski, wildlife rehabilitator and her big brown bat Betsy.  Games, crafts, fun and pizza lunch too!
