Interacting Scenario Three

Transcript

CASHIER: Thanks for your purchase. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

CUSTOMER: Thank you very much. While I have you, we're in town, my daughter is checking out Penn State and we're looking for something to do tonight. Do you have any suggestions?

CASHIER: Oh. First, that's great that she's checking out Penn State. My nephew goes here and he absolutely loves it. But as far as something to do, what are you looking for because we have several theaters on and off campus and there's always a sporting event going on. We just have so much to do here.

CUSTOMER: We always do like a good show. Do you know anything going on tonight or tomorrow?

CASHIER: You know, I'm not sure but you can find out for certain at visitpennstate.org. There, you'll find the listing of different events and it's always up-to-date.

CUSTOMER: Thank you very much. I appreciate it.

CASHIER: Absolutely. No problem.

Another good example. When interacting with visitors or customers, please remember to follow your company policies or any other customer service guidelines that your supervisors have provided. If you're ever pressed for time or you don't have an answer ready, remember this website, visitpennstate.org.

In this scenario, David doesn’t know exactly what he wants to do, but he knows what he likes. Jess gets closer to an answer with her qualifying questions, but she doesn’t know everything that’s happening nearby tonight, which is perfectly normal. Most people don’t. This is a good opportunity for her to recommend the Visitors Bureau website, visitpennstate.org, which she does.

During business hours, a recommendation to visit the Centre County/Penn State Visitors Center is great, but the website never closes so that's an option 24-hours a day if someone needs immediate answers.
